The Husiatyn Synagogue (''Festungs-Schule'') is a former synagogue in Husiatyn, Galicia, Ukraine. The synagogue is a rare example of a sixteenth-century "Fortress synagogue"〔Erased: Vanishing Traces of Jewish Galicia in Present-day Ukraine, By Omer Bartov, Princeton University Press, 2007, p. 105 ff.〕 built in Renaissance style. S. Ansky describes it as "one of the lovliest and most splendid in Galicia."〔''The Enemy at His Pleasure: A Journey Through the Jewish Pale of Settlement During World War I,'' By S. An-Ski, S. Ansky, Translated by Joachim Neugroschel, Macmillan, 2003 p. 253〕 Omer Bartov describes the synagogue as "exquisite." In 1972 the standing ruin was renovated and turned into a museum. Today, the roof has collapsed and the building stands vacant. ==See also== *Center for Jewish History 抄文引用元・出典: フリー百科事典『 ウィキペディア(Wikipedia)』 ■ウィキペディアで「Husiatyn Synagogue」の詳細全文を読む スポンサード リンク
